A couple of months ago, my family and I went on an outing to Disney World. We took an insane amount of photos and I was looking through them afterwards to decide which ones to keep. I noticed I didn’t look as great as I thought in the first few, but I blamed the photographer’s angle because every one else looked great. Excuses gave way to denial, and by the time I flipped through all the family photos I had experienced all five stages of grief. I hated how I looked.
That’s when I had my first health wake-up call.
In the photos I looked tired and stressed, like I was worn out before I even set foot in the park. I was curious to see how much I had changed. I found a picture on my phone that I had taken six months before…and I was shocked. The last time I had weighed myself (also six months earlier), I was 115 pounds. I scrambled to find a scale. That day, I weighed in at 140.
The huge difference between the two photos stopped me in my tracks. In six months, I gained 25 pounds. I didn’t even know that was possible, but a combination of eating whatever you feel like, ignoring exercise, and constant stress will do that to you. I felt as tired as I looked in the photos and I didn’t like it. I knew I could do better than this. I used to work out 5 plus hours a day when I was in musical theatre training for crying out loud!
I decided it was time to take control of my health again. The only problem was I didn’t know what to do or where to start.
That’s when I met Tambra Lanham, a Holistic Health Coach. We had spoken in passing at my mom’s church, but one day she reached out to me for help running a website. Since I needed help whipping myself into shape, we started working together. As I got to know her more, I found out how much she knows about eating towards a positive, healthy lifestyle. I also learned how deeply she cares for people, how badly she wants her clients to reach their health and wellness goals, and how happy she is when they achieve them.
One day while we were working, Tambra told me about her latest project: a 90-Day weight-loss program she created that focuses on developing and maintaining healthy habits which can be tailored to fit your lifestyle. She called it Lose Weight Live More. She invited me to try it out and I am so glad that I did.
Why I love Lose Weight Live More
Learning to make healthy choices is creating a new habit, which is the most difficult part. There are growing pains involved, but the program makes it easier by incorporating one thing I don’t always see in at-your-own-pace weight loss programs: food education and community. The Lose Weight Live More program’s primary focus is on educating and empowering the participants about nutrition (not dieting) and the habits that you need to work towards to reach your goal of losing weight, keeping it off, and experiencing a higher quality of life.
Lose Weight Live More also gives you the tools to change your mindset to more positive thinking during your weight loss journey. Some programs have a do-or-die mentality where if you fall off the wagon it’s nigh on impossible to get back on without having to start over again. In the Lose Weight Live More program, every small change is celebrated as a step in the right direction. The days you stumble are not treated as failure and you don’t go back to square one because you hit a speed bump. That’s why there is also a community available to you during the program.
The Lose Weight Live More program has a private forum where you can reach out to Tambra and other program participants, ask questions, even leave an encouraging comment. Even though we don’t live close to each other, I feel a kinship with the other participants. We’re in this together and we always have someone to talk to.
I’ve lost 10 lbs, but I feel like I have taken away so much more from the program than what I invested in it. I sleep better, am way more conscious of my eating habits, and have learned how easy it is to make the healthier choice. I have more energy, my mind is sharper, my performance at work is better, and my mood has exponentially improved.
Why am I sharing this with you guys? Because I think there are other people out there who feel how I felt. People who want to lose weight and get healthier and have no idea how to start. If you’re looking for a way to lose weight and keep it off, I strongly recommend the Lose Weight Live More program. You get all the tools you need to succeed, you just need to put in the work. So try it. I had nothing to lose with it except 10 pounds… and counting.
